The legality of Cannabis in Bulgaria:
Despite the fact that Sunny Beach is one of Europe’s most popular party destinations, marijuana remains banned. Bulgaria has a fairly strong anti-marijuana law as a whole. If you are discovered with marijuana by the authorities, you may be fined or, if you are carrying a large amount, you may be sentenced to prison. Having said that, a handful of the persons we spoke to who have been caught with marijuana said that the police will confiscate it and demand a bribe ranging from $100 to $300. One guy, on the other hand, did spend a night in jail but was not required to pay any fees.
But don’t be alarmed by those tales. The vast majority of the people we spoke with had never been caught, and you can see a lot of people smoking pot even when walking around Sunny Beach. You should be fine as long as you don’t smoke on the main street. Just stay on the beach or on the balcony of your hotel.
How to Get Weed in Sunny Beach
Marijuana is rather easy to come by in Sunny Beach, especially late at night. Dealers will emerge on the street around 2-3 a.m. Some of them are fairly blatant, and they’ll stroll around yelling things like “marijuana” or “cannabis.” Others are a little more understated, simply sitting on a bench and looking about. Simply approach them and inquire. Another approach to get weed is to ask any of the street promoters; they will almost always know where to get it. A gram usually costs around 20-30 leva or 10-15 bucks.
